Area of Practice: Environmental Law

Environmental liability claims can be especially challenging due to the complex laws and regulations that govern environmental actions. For those outside the arena of environmental law, these regulations can be very difficult to understand. Our team of environmental law professionals has impressive experience working within this field, and can help our clients understand and successfully defend themselves against such complicated claims.

Our attorneys are familiar with the federal and state statutes governing a wide range of areas of environmental law and maintain a network of experts and consultants that are available to help our clients with these matters. Our firm has experience in claims and corporate management, coverage analysis, environmental remediation for small businesses, residencies, and major Superfund sites, and the litigation of suits involving chemical spills, workplace, and environmental exposures. We have in-depth knowledge of tax laws in the form of incentives for activities intended to benefit the environment, like fuel-efficient vehicles and the installation of solar panels. Our attorneys are familiar with the requirements for insulation, heat transfer through windows and non-polluting construction materials.

Resnick & Louis has the experience and resources to try high-stakes cases, including those involving alleged soil, water, and air pollution. As part of our strategic approach to cases, however, we also advise clients on creative defense strategies, including those designed to facilitate early resolutions. We work closely with scientists, physicians, engineers, modelers, appraisers, economists, historians, accountants, and other experts who often play an important role in complex environmental and toxic tort litigation. We also have broad appellate capabilities that we utilize to support our litigation and trial strategies, as well as to represent our clients in appeals.

We have wide-ranging experience representing chemical, refining, mining, manufacturing, and other industrial and commercial clients regarding releases to air, water, and land; contaminated sites; solid waste management; hazardous substances and wastes; forests, mineral, and other national resources; and workplace exposures.
