Jamieson N.W.C. Poe, Esq. has been a licensed attorney since 1990. He is licensed in the states of Nevada, Arizona, Washington and Hawaii, and in federal courts including the United States Supreme Court, United States Ninth Circuit, United States District Court of Nevada, United States District Court of Arizona and United States District Court of the Eastern District of Washington. Mr. Poe’s practice areas include insurance defense, construction defect, business litigation, family law, surety law, Chapter 11 reorganization, and trustee’s rights and creditor’s rights in bankruptcy matters.

Prior to joining the Firm in 2016, Mr. Poe practiced as an associate with the insurance defense firm of Craig D. Guenther, P.C from February 2010 to October 2015. Mr. Poe defended general contractors in construction defect cases including In re Wirsbo. During this time, Mr. Poe also practiced business litigation and related bankruptcy matters.

From April 2007 to November 2009, Mr. Poe practiced as an associate with the insurance defense firm of Barron & Pruitt, LLC. Mr. Poe defended subcontractors in construction defect cases such as the Turnberry Tower litigations, defended general contractor Whiting Turner in business litigation, and defended insureds in personal injury cases, including slip and fall, auto accidents and general negligence. During this time, Mr. Poe second chaired trials and tried personal injury cases in binding arbitration or before mandatory arbitration judges.

From September of 2006 to April of 2007, Mr. Poe practiced as an associate with the business litigation, family, and bankruptcy firm of Larsen & Stephens, in which he tried family law cases in Clark County Family Court, Las Vegas, Nevada.

From June 2004 through September 2007, Mr. Poe was a senior associate with the surety firm Faux Law Group and defended surety companies in United States District Courts of Arizona and Nevada, and United States Bankruptcy Court for the Districts of Arizona and Nevada. Mr. Poe acted as second chair in the AAA arbitration of Addison vs. State of Nevada, which resulted in the largest award against the State of Nevada. During his time at the Faux Law Group, Mr. Poe also supervised two other associate attorneys.

From January 2002 to May 2004, Jamieson practiced as an associate with the bankruptcy creditor firm of Shea & Carlyon. During this time, Mr. Poe represented creditors and a few debtors in their Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization matters, and also represented trustees, debtors and creditors in Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcy matters. This representation assisted the firm in becoming and being retained as GMAC’s general west coast bankruptcy counsel.

Mr. Poe previously served as the U.S. Ninth Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel law clerk and senior law clerk for the Honorable Lawrence Ollason (deceased), United States Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Arizona and a former U.S. Ninth Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel Judge, from 1993 through 2001. He had also served as law clerk to the Honorable John A. Rossmeissl, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Eastern District of Washington from 1990 through 1992.
