Alphonso “Al” Peets is a Partner in the Fort Lauderdale and Orlando offices of Resnick & Louis, P.C. An experienced insurance defense/construction defect attorney with over 20 years of litigation experience, and many negligent security and premises liability files. A large segment of his case load involves construction defect matters specializing in defending builders, contractors, developers, and other parties against lawsuits alleging defects in construction projects, utilizing his relevant understanding of construction law. He has managed a team of attorneys, law clerks, paralegals, nurse-paralegals, file/subpoena clerks and staff to litigate complex personal injury cases. Further, he has assembled and developed, a highly qualified network of trial ready experts, including accident reconstructionist, economist, vocational rehabilitation specialist/ life care planners, medical coding, billing experts, private investigators, and other experts in various specialized fields to support the defendant’s position during trial.
Mr. Peets obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida. He Earned his Law degree from Nova Southeastern University where he won the University’s Moot Court Competition. Additionally, as a member of the FBI’s Citizen Academy Alumni Association, Mr. Peets assisted the local FBI office with community-based initiatives including the development and implementation of the FBI-SOS program, a safe online surfing (SOS) program, the FBI summer Youth Academy, and the Citizens Academy Alumni Association Holiday Program.
