Daniel B. Cratty is a Partner in the Houston office of Resnick & Louis, P.C. and has extensive litigation experience in handling cases involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death, bodily injury, premises liability, property damage, and construction defects. Daniel’s significant litigation experience has taught him that hard work, diligence and determination is the recipe for a successful litigation outcome on behalf of his clients. Daniel sees the case from all perspectives and provides guidance to his clients on the best litigation plan and takes the necessary action to put the plan in motion for success.
Daniel began his career at the oldest plaintiff firm in Texas where he gained invaluable experience learning how to take a case from sign-up to trial. He began working on small injury cases and rapidly advanced to handling multi-district litigation involving catastrophic injuries and wrongful deaths. Daniel then moved to a smaller boutique plaintiff’s firm focused on mass tort litigation, chemical exposure, and wildfire property damage claims. The experience gained while working on behalf of plaintiffs provided him with a unique insight as to how plaintiffs build their liability arguments and formulate damage models. In addition to plaintiff work, Daniel also served as general counsel to several industries throughout his legal career. His experience as an outside general counsel taught him to see litigation from a defensive perspective and provided him with the insight to advise companies on how to avoid litigation and mitigate exposure. His experience as an outside general counsel also taught him the value of cost efficiency and direct communication. More recently, Daniel has been representing corporations and insurance companies, helping them navigate the high seas of both complex commercial litigation and catastrophic injury cases in Texas.
Daniel grew up in New England, attending Fairfield College Preparatory School before completing his undergraduate studies at Baylor University. After college, Daniel went to work for a boutique
insurance coverage and defense law firm in Austin, Texas—where his passion for the law was solidified and a future path made clear. He attended South Texas College of Law in Houston. While in law school, Daniel received numerous accolades for his writing and advocacy, however his greatest achievement was meeting his wife while they were both students. Daniel is married with four children and he enjoys spending time with family, coaching youth basketball, movies, music and cooking–inside and out.
Daniel is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
