Jaime Balli is a Partner in the Edinburg (RGV), Texas Office of Resnick & Louis, P.C. He has extensive litigation experience in insurance defense, including bodily injury, premises liability, workers compensation, construction defect, personal and commercial motor vehicle claims, and dram shop liability on both sides of the docket. His practice also involves representing insurance companies in defense of first party and bad faith claims, as well as employment matters for private entities.
Prior to joining Resnick & Louis, P.C. Jaime owned and operated his own law office with a focus on mediation. He has also been a partner in a midsized defense firm, an in-house senior trial lawyer and supervising attorney for a number of nationwide insurance companies, and as an Associate Municipal Court Judge.
Jaime also has significant experience in handling the investigation and litigation of workers compensation matters. Jaime has represented insurance carriers before the Texas Department of Insurance (“TDI”)-Injured Worker Division (formerly the Texas Workers’ Commission) on a range of issues, including coverage, impairment, and benefits. He has appeared before Benefit Reviewer and Contested Review Officers in informal Benefit Review Conferences (BRCs) and Contested Case Hearings (CCHs), respectively. Jaime has also handled administrative appeals of workers compensation matters before the TDI. Jaime has also successfully tried a significant number of catastrophic injury cases before juries in the Rio Grande Valley and South Texas, including multiple wrongful death cases.
While in law school, Jaime competed in both mock trial and moot court at the University of Houston Law Center. He served as the law student representative on the law school’s faculty employment committee.
Jaime enjoys jogging, working out, reading works of history, watching all types of documentaries, attending college and professional football games in Austin and Houston, and spending time on South Padre Island, which island was first settled by his great, great, great uncle, Fr. Nicholas Balli.
