Jeffrey Kolokoff is a Partner in the Denver office of Resnick & Louis and a retired Judge. His practice focuses on insurance related cases including insurance coverage, construction defects, trucking/transportation liability, and bad faith litigation. Jeffrey also acts as a mediator, arbitrator, special master, and private judge. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner (inactive) and a skilled financial, banking, mortgage, and insurance fraud investigator.

Jeffrey began his legal career as a prosecutor in Miami and focused on complex white-collar fraud and tried numerous jury trials to verdict.  In addition to fraud cases, Jeffrey prosecuted drug trafficking, violent crimes, and other offenses and served as Assistant Chief of County Court where he supervised nearly seventy prosecutors.

Jeffrey entered private practice in 2012 and joined a South Florida boutique firm where he represented clients in a broad range of matters focusing on civil litigation, major provider fraud, and defense of fraudulent claims until he was appointed to the bench in 2020. Jeffrey presided over criminal and civil cases as both a County Court Judge and Acting Circuit Judge until his term ended in 2023. Jeffrey was the most active jury trial judge in Miami during that time.

Jeffrey then joined a national firm where represented institutional and private clients in many matters including breach of contract, misappropriation of intellectual property, civil theft, premises liability, personal injury, and wrongful death.

Jeffrey received his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University, and his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Bucknell University. He graduated from law school with a Certificate in Advanced Legal Research, Writing, and Drafting and was a member of  Mercer Law Review. He was also a member of the Moot Court Board and served as Vice Chair of Finance.

Prior to receiving his law degree, Jeffrey worked at Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley and gained valuable experience in consumer finance, financial markets, and stock brokerage.

Jeffrey was appointed by the Florida Supreme Court to chair The Florida Bar Committee on Unlicensed Practice of Law from 2015-2017 (member 2011-2017) and as a member of The Florida Bar Professional Ethics Committee (2018-2024).

Jeffrey is married to a practicing family attorney and has three children. He is a die-hard Miami Heat fan (and longtime season ticket member), personally witnessed the last Miami Dolphins playoff win, and is enjoying the Florida Panthers Stanley Cup defense.

He is licensed to practice law in Colorado, the District of Columbia, and Florida.
