Jelica DeLaine is an Associate Attorney in the Orlando, Florida office of Resnick & Louis, P.C. She has extensive litigation experience in insurance defense, bodily injury defense, premise liability, third-party defense, catastrophic injury and wrongful death.
Since becoming a member of the Florida Bar, Jelica has developed a comprehensive legal background encompassing criminal, family, civil litigation and the defense of insurance carriers in complex liability disputes. She also brings valuable courtroom experience from her career as an Assistant State Attorney, where she prosecuted criminal felony, misdemeanors and juvenile offenses on behalf of the State of Florida. Jelica also served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Florida Office of the Attorney General, in addition to her career in private practice, including founding and managing her own law firm. Across all roles, she has consistently demonstrated a commitment to thorough preparation, persuasive advocacy, and ethical client representation.
Jelica earned her Juris Doctor cum laude from Florida A&M University College of Law, where she graduated in the top 20% of her class, was a Dean’s List honoree, and served as Treasurer of the American Association for Justice. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida. Jelica is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Her depth of litigation experience and focused insurance defense work make her a trusted advocate and integral member of the firm’s legal team.
When she is not practicing law, Jelica is a dedicated wife and a mother of three children. She also enjoys traveling internationally, learning about her Caribbean family lineage and devoting her spare time to cherishing family memories.
