Kurt Temple is a Partner in the Denver office of Resnick & Louis, P.C. and has represented both Colorado and Utah clients in all phases of personal injury, insurance, skier liability, SIU/EUO, labor and employment law, professional liability, construction defect, design professionals, A&E, class action, environmental law, medical malpractice, subrogation general liability and premises liability litigation. Kurt has handled professional liability claims for architects, accountants, healthcare, and other licensed professionals. Kurt is also versed in handling mediations.
Prior to joining Resnick & Louis, Kurt gained SIU experience at Allstate’s SIU department when he was lead counsel for the Denver and Salt Lake City staff counsel offices. He has additionally managed two high volume law offices in distinctly different jurisdictions. He has been responsible for reviewing claims department, staff counsel, and special investigations unit processes for compliance with state statutes, rules, ordinances and common law. Further, Kurt has served as counsel and provided representation related to government investigations, enforcement matters, and liability matters.
During his career, Kurt has gained experience through more than 70 solo/first chair District Court jury trials that were brought to verdict in Colorado. He is also a recurring attendee of the NITA deposition skills seminar, as well as, NITA trial seminar. In 2012, Kurt presented “Managing Juror Expectations of Opposing Experts” at the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association Conference.
Kurt received his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law where he was the runner-up in the moot court negotiation competition. He also was a member of the moot court appellate advocacy team, competed in the ABA-sponsored regional appellate advocacy competition, and took second place in the New York Bar-sponsored regional appellate advocacy competition, earning a slot at the New York Bar-sponsored national appellate advocacy competition. Kurt has had trucking experience with Holland Hitch, which at the time held about 70% of the North American commercial truck towing accessories market. small, mom-and-pop companies and large, and multi-state companies.
In his free time, Kurt enjoys gardening, studying history, military science, home improvement, and international travel.
Kurt is licensed to practice law in the states of Colorado and Utah, as well as U.S. District Court-District of Colorado and U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.
