Laurie Cameron is an Associate Attorney in the Miami Office of Resnick & Louis, P.C. She comes to Resnick & Louis, P.C. with over 30 years experience. Prior to joining, Laurie maintained her own successful law practice for twenty years. The primary focus of her practice was family and criminal law as well as general civil litigation. After closing her practice in 2021, she freelanced for several years gaining experience in first and third party insurance defense law. Before Laurie opened her own firm she obtained extensive civil litigation experience working for several public interest law firms in Florida.
Laurie received her Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Economics from New College of Florida, Florida’s public honors college. She subsequently attended Stetson University College of Law and graduated with her Juris Doctorate degree.
Laurie is originally from Toronto, Canada. As a youth, she competitively showed Quarter Horses on the American Quarter Horse Show Circuit and won a world championship at the All American Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio. Laurie spends her free time volunteering for several nonprofit greyhound adoption groups and the Florida Bar. She also writes articles related to the growing domestic violence crisis in the U.S. Laurie has resided in South Florida for the majority of her life.
Laurie is licensed to practice in the State of Florida, admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court, the
U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the U.S. District Court of Florida, Middle District. She obtained certifications as a Florida Circuit Civil Mediator and a Florida Family Law Mediator.
