He spent five years at a Mesa, Arizona, practice where he gained substantial experience providing legal counsel to condominiums, planned communities, and homeowners associations. Before embarking on his legal career, Marcus taught mathematics at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where he honed his ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.
