Martin received his JD from Suffolk University law school in 1985 and his BA from Connecticut College in 1980. In addition to law school, Martin earned a Master’s Degree in Homeland Security from the Naval Postgraduate School’s Center for Homeland Defense and Security in 2006 and is the author of, “Foundations of Homeland Security and Emergency Management: Law and Policy. 3rd Edition.”
Martin has professional first responder experience as a police officer, an EMT, and a search and rescue team member. He volunteers with his dog Marley visiting patients in the Emergency Department of UCSF Medical Center.
