Mike M. Khalilpour is a Partner in the Burbank office of Resnick & Louis, P.C. where he where he practices in the areas of Construction Law, Real Estate, General and Commercial Litigation, Business Formations, Contractor Licensing and Contracts, and Business Law, serving as outside general counsel to numerous contractors and developers.
Mike has extensive experience in representing business in helping to identify and implement strategies to manage risk, protect against exposure, ensure regulatory compliance, and protect company assets. As a litigator, Mike has been first chair in numerous trials,arbitrations and mediations involving complex business disputes, contractor payment claims (mechanics liens), construction defect defense, real estate and development disputes, commercial debt collection, and judgment recovery.
Since 2017, Mike has primarily represented property owners, general contractors, subcontractors, construction material suppliers, equipment rental companies, and others involved in the construction process in the resolution of disputes ranging from construction defect claims to the enforcement of mechanics’ liens and stop notices in addition to representing licensed contractors and property owners before the California Contractors’ State License Board in administrative proceedings.
Prior to graduating from law school, Mike earned his Bachelor of Arts in 2004 from the University of California, Irvine, in Political Science and Economics with an emphasis on statistical analysis. Subsequently, Mike graduated cum laude from Chapman University’s Fowler School of Law in 2009 where he was the Managing Editor of the Chapman Law Review. In 2011, Mike received a Masters of Taxation (LL.M.) from the Georgetown University Law Center.
