Patrick J. McDonald is a Partner and the Managing Partner of the Charleston and Columbia offices of Resnick & Louis, P.C. where his areas of concentration include construction litigation, insurance defense, hospitality and retail defense, business formation and litigation, transportation defense and premises liability. As a former in-house counsel to one of the world’s largest construction management companies and founder of SC Construction Law, Patrick is well-versed in all facets of the construction industry. Patrick has appeared in State and Federal courts as well as numerous mediations and arbitrations. He has actively represented owners, developers, design professionals, transportation companies, architects & engineers, SIU/EUO, general contractors, subcontractors, directors and officers, suppliers, sureties, professional liability, manufacturers, homeowner associations and many other general business clients in various matters. Patrick prides himself on closely interacting with his clients to help achieve a successful outcome.

He has also had the honor of being a guest lecturer for many South Carolina continuing legal education programs regarding construction and real estate related matters.
Patrick graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in English from John Carroll University and a law degree from the University of Detroit, where he was Managing Editor of In Brief and was awarded a Presidential Scholarship. Patrick has been a frequent lecturer on construction law issues in South Carolina.
Patrick is licensed to practice law in the states of South Carolina, and Michigan, as well as the United States District courts.
