Prescott Jones is an accomplished litigator with broad experience representing individuals and businesses in state, federal, and appellate courts throughout Nevada. He has also been admitted pro hac vice in multiple jurisdictions and frequently serves as local counsel for out-of-state clients. His practice includes representation of clients of all sizes in appellate matters, employment disputes, general liability, premises liability, anti-SLAPP litigation, construction litigation, insurance coverage, HOA/common-interest community disputes, class actions, shareholder derivative suits, commercial litigation, and personal injury claims.
Prescott has successfully handled all phases of litigation, from pre-suit strategy and Rule 12 motions to discovery, pretrial proceedings, trial, and appeal. He also has extensive experience in complex mediations and arbitrations, both court-annexed and private.
In addition to his litigation work, Prescott advises clients of all sizes on diverse corporate matters. His corporate practice includes mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, purchase and sale agreements, regulatory compliance, zoning and land use issues, licensing agreements, and matters before state boards and local governmental entities. He is also a recognized authority on cannabis law in Nevada, having represented clients in the industry since the passage of SB 374 in 2013.
Prescott holds a 2025 AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell in Business Law, Construction Litigation, and General Civil Litigation. He was named to the 2023 Top 100 Lawyers by MyVegas Magazine and recognized in the 2021 Legal Elite by Nevada Business Magazine for excellence in Corporate/Cannabis, General Civil Litigation, and Insurance Coverage. He was also selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2019.
Prescott earned his law degree in the top quarter of his class, serving as Publications Editor of the Buffalo Law Review, Senior Member of the Buffalo Moot Court Board, and Senior Associate Member of the Jessup Moot Court Board. He was admitted to the Nevada Bar in the same year he graduated.
Outside of his legal practice, Prescott is an avid hockey player and enjoys hiking at Red Rock Canyon.
