Thomas Miller is a Partner in the Florida offices of Resnick & Louis, P.C., with over thirty-seven years of litigation experience including construction defects on behalf ofdevelopers, general contractors and subcontractors, architects and engineers, and complex commercial litigation. Thomas’ construction experience includes large commercial projects and multi-family associations, from Chapter 558 proceedings through trial and arbitration. Thomas focuses on achieving cost-effective resolution of cases.
Before joining the firm, Thomas defended cases involving high value construction defects, premises liability, general liability, and first party property cases. Thomas primarily focuses on construction and commercial litigation and has taken several cases from inception through trial. His trial experience includes bench and jury trials in the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Florida and the Northern and Middle Districts of Alabama, and Circuit Courts in Florida and Alabama, as well as several arbitrations. Thomas’ previous experience includes handling appeals in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the Alabama Supreme Court, and Florida’s District Courts of Appeal.
In 1988, Thomas earned his juris doctor from the Cumberland School of Law of Samford University, where he graduated magna cum laude. He served as an Associate Editor for the Cumberland Law Review, was a member of Phi Kappa Phi,and a member of the Henry Upson Sims Moot Court. Thomas obtained his bachelor’s degree from Auburn University in 1984, where he earned two varsity letters as a football manager. Before enrolling at Auburn, Thomas gained valuable construction experience working as a surveyor in his family’s civil engineering and surveying firm.
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Thomas calls South Florida home since 1992. He enjoys spending time with his wife of over thirty years and their two children. A history buff and voracious reader, Thomas also enjoys visiting the National Parks, traveling anywhere new, and taking the family’s pups to the dog beach in his spare time. He is a devoted alumni of Auburn University and attends as many football and basketball games as time allows.
