Another Favorable result for Chris Feasel and his team on a high-stakes car versus motorcycle accident case. This was an admitted liability case with past medical specials in the amount of $120k. Plaintiff suffered a dislocated left shoulder and left wrist fracture. Evidence showed Plaintiff had prior shoulder dislocations, and Plaintiff failed to get any treatment after about 3 months post-accident. Though he continued to complain of pain and injury, and Plaintiff’s trial experts said he needed a lot of future treatment, sub rosa video showed him working and playing golf and otherwise living his life.
Prior to trial Plaintiff served a 998 for the policy limits of $4 million. They asked for $10 million in closing. The jury awarded $500k. Chris avoided a potential #nuclearverdict by having a clear defense strategy, taking responsibility early, giving a reasonable compensation amount in opening, and having consistent themes of common sense and reasonableness.
