Common Questions About Mediation
Mediation can raise a number of questions, especially if it’s your first time going through the process. Below, we’ve answered some of the most common questions to help you understand what to expect, how to prepare, and how mediation can help resolve your matter efficiently and effectively.
We bill based on a half day or full day rate. The rate is $1,000 per party for ½ day and $2,000 per party for a full day.
Half days are considered up to 4 hours inclusive of prep and follow up time. Full days are considered up to 8 hours inclusive of prep and follow up time.
You will receive a confirmation e-mail enclosing a Mediation Retention Agreement, Invoice and W9 form for payment. Once those are returned along with payment, you will be sent the Mediation Services Confidential Submission form. The Mediation Services Confidential Submission form must be submitted at least seven (7 ) days prior to the scheduled mediation date, along with any other information deemed relevant for consideration by the mediator.
Yes, an in-person mediation is possible if the matter is scheduled within Harris County, Texas at 1512 Center Street, Suite 515, Houston TX 77007 or at another agreed location by the parties within Harris County at no additional charge. If the matter is scheduled outside of Harris County, Texas, there will be a travel fee of $225 per hour plus any related travel expenses, such as mileage and/or accommodations.

Yes, if the matter is cancelled less than 72-hours in advance of the scheduled mediation date/time, full payment of the mediation fee is required. If the cancellation is 72 hours or greater in advance of the mediation date/time there is no charge.
